How we vet providers
Before a provider can take marketplace jobs, a person on our team checks their papers. Here is what we check, who checks it, and what we don't.

Everyone proves who they are
Every provider who signs up on their own uploads proof of identity, such as a passport or photo driving licence. A person checks it before any kind of work is approved, unless they have already passed our lister check.
The right registration for the work
We approve providers kind of work by kind of work. A gas engineer approved for gas checks isn't automatically approved for viewings. The table below is built from the rules the approval check itself uses.

Insurance for trades working in homes is asked for, not required. If it matters to you, check the provider's profile.
A person approves. Nobody approves themselves.
Each brand on LevelMoves has an admin team. A brand admin checks each paper and approves each kind of work. Nobody can approve their own account or check their own certificate, and a provider isn't offered landlords' jobs for a kind of work until it's approved.
Papers expire, and so does approval
Registrations and certificates have end dates. A registration counts only while the paper behind it is checked and in date. When a paper a kind of work depends on runs out, our regular check takes that kind of work off the provider's record and we tell them in their dashboard. They're back once a new paper is checked.
What we don't check
- The quality of each job. We don't inspect work. Landlords rate providers after each job.
- Every registration number against the public register, every day. The person checking reads each paper and has a link to the right public register (such as Gas Safe or the SRA) and to Companies House to look it up. Nothing checks the numbers automatically.
- Prices. Providers set their own. You see the price before you say yes.
- Your own contacts. If you add your own trade or your own PA, you've chosen them. We don't vet them, and nobody pays a fee.
If a provider's papers look wrong, or something goes wrong on a job, tell us. We'll look into it.
LevelMoves checks papers, not people's work. Approval isn't a guarantee or a recommendation. You choose who works on your home.
