固有物件参照番号 (UPRN)

グレートブリテン内で住所を特定できる場所（住宅、住戸、建物など）を、その存続期間中ずっと識別する、最長12桁の番号です。

要するに: UPRNは、地方自治体とOrdnance Surveyが、グレートブリテン内の住所を特定できるすべての場所に割り当てる固有の番号です。住所の書き方が異なっても、また通りの名称が変更されても、番号は変わりません。政府は、物件を示すための公開標準としてUPRNを採用しています。

有用な理由:

住所の書き方は多様です（"Flat 2, 10 High St"や"10b High Street"など）。UPRNは変わりません。
EPC登録簿や地方自治体の記録など、別々の場所に保管されている同じ住宅の記録を結び付けられます。
ブロック内の各住戸にはそれぞれUPRNがあり、ブロック自体にも別のUPRNがあります。
